Eat that frog with a Pomodoro
So I heard about the Pomodoro technique for the first time in my fellowship at AMAL Academy, actually, it's a really interesting technique in which you have to set a timer for 25 minutes, start your task, focus on your task and do it without any distractions, then take a short break.
So our task was to apply this technique and write down all the distractions. So I have my GAT test on Sunday this week and when I was studying for it, I applied it. At the start, it was a bit hard to focus on just one thing but after sometime when I got a bit familiar with it, it got better and more productive, it really helped me a lot.
The things that distracted me, the procrastination are as follows;
Phone
The unnecessary calls and texts
Social media notifications
Unnecessary knocking on the door by anyone
So at first, I had to turn off the notifications, that went well for some time but then I have to turn on the flight mode so that I don't get distracted.
In short, it’s a really productive technique, and it really helps you to understand the value of time, you get to know about your distractions and most importantly it helps in stopping you from wasting your time and making you more productive.
